Consular certificates


The Consulate General can issue consular certificates to testify certain circumstances of the applicant.

 

The consular certificate may be issued in English, however, the application form has to be filled in Lithuanian.

Certificates about citizenship and the place of residence for the purpose of retirement benefits

 

A person receiving retirement benefits (social security pensions) every year in November –December have to submit to the Board of the State Social Security Fund a certificate regarding his or her citizenship and place of residence abroad.

 

Such certificates may be issued by the Consulate General or by competent US institutions.

The applicant has to apply in person. In the case of illness or other important reason, the person may apply by mail, but has to certify the signature by a US notary.

 

In order to get this certificate please submit:

  • application to issue a consular certificate regarding citizenship and place of residence  Dokumentas Word formate (see example);

  • copies of the main page of the Lithuanian and US passport (if applicable);

  • a document proving the place of residence (e.g. US driver's license, bills, bank statements),

  • consular fee (in cash or Money Order);

  • self-addressed stamped envelope, if applying by mail.
